If necessary the standard period of maternity care (8 days after the birth of your baby) can be extended with two days.

“Aftercare for a premature baby”

Special aftercare with a maternity nurse is possible if you come home with your premature baby who has stayed in an incubator during its first weeks.Your health insurance will refund this under normal circumstances. Your maternity nurse will help you and your baby. She supports you to take care of your newborn in the specific home situation.

Aftercare for a newborns mother and her baby

If the newborns mother has to stay in hospital for more than 10 days after the delivery, it might be convenient if the maternity nurse comes and assists you with taking care of yourself and your newborn. Sometimes the Health Insurance refunds this, if not we can discuss the financial details together.
